Another Bunge session, with another hot agenda! From my view politics have gain much ground in this era than ever in Tanzania. Everyday, in every news political issues with serious discussions on the table have been coming and go, getting tense with every-time around. But has it bring any positive development lately?
And all the time its a war between the two most influential political parties, and what I may highly consider it as a war between liberals and conservatives. Do you think different? tell me why.. I can tell why.
The events and all things that brings these two parties, one considered the strongest opposition[CHADEMA] and the ruling party [CCM] are issues concerning with 'CHANGES'. 'Change in constitution' change in ... change in ... and presently it is change in huge 'Allowances' given to our Members of Parliament when fulfilling what we voted them for. But as always, its being played around, considering the ruling party has the majority in the parliament, the chances for real changes are minimal. We have a budget in place, nothing new, nothing promising for the hundreds of people in poverty in Tanzania. Its the same bugdet, construct more roads, pay more 'allowances', build more offices, ..etc. What job creations? As a youth everytime I look around I believe we have a very difficult feature coming, and all I hope is that 'our politicians' sees it. We might have a load of unemployed youths in the years, and unless there is a long term plan to solve that the consiquences might be real bad.
The only thing I see is that, there is a lot of dramas and less changes taking place, and as time goes it does not need an economist to tell that our economy is going through real hard time. Our currency is losing value in a high speed and there is no any measure or caution taken by our Central Bank. Most of things that you could purchase at Tsh 'X' about a year or two ago, now you must have atleast '2X' Tsh to do so. And what about salaries? No increase.. And all we here every time our parliament comes is plans...plans...plans. But here we are, we want a peaceful Tanzania, but one where there is freedom of press with expression freedom attached to it, a Tanzania where a leader will stop by in a remote village on his way to parliament and ask what the people need. Leaders who will think of others and generations to come. When will that be?
There might be a lot to say but 'this is Africa', so 'There is no hurry, change will come 'kesho'[tomorrow]! Hakuna Matata!
So, I too wait.. waiting for the real changes, when will that be? I don't know, but Hakuna Matata... i will be waiting.....but am not only waiting, but am being a part of it!!!
