The course outline is basic, from email use ( in my last seminars i released many high school students still have problems using emails, and most don't have any) to introduction to social media platforms such as Blogs, Wikis, Social Sharing and Social Networks (eg. Facebook, Twitter and Google +).
Tanzanian youth are now becoming more and more online than before, and this being good it brings about the question of knowing what are the benefits of engagement and the disadvantages of misbehaving/bad use on these social media platforms. In the issue of Facebook use, I bring up the topic of user privacy and train on proper privacy settings depending on the user's sensitivity. Helping fellow young people to realize how they may utilize this online platforms to expand their knowledge base and at the same time shape themselves to be what they want to be in near future.
Concerned comrades, and anyone who believes in the importance of doing this I will need your need material and moral support in making this a success. I am keeping a deadline for preparations by 30th June, where I will confirm a venue that may hold about 100 young people for a 6 hour session. The model of participation I intend it to be by application and invitation to high schools and high learning institutions here in Dar es Salaam. My goal is the event to be held in August, with your help I believe this will be a success!
For this I will need help in funding it, I will update soon on the venue cost, am still researching on that. But so far there will be communication/logistics costs during the whole period of preparation, cost for renting a projector, stationery etc. Come back for more information, and of you may help in way for this to happen please you may contact me directly by mobile +255717-790034 or by email stephen(at)kijanamokiwa.com, Paypal donations to stevpm(at)gmail.com !
Asante sana,
